Really? What the hell is wrong with you? Who the hell says that the father is married? I mean, REALLY? Even if he is, it would be the FATHER'S fault for cheating on his wife. The girl wouldn't be cheating at all. She's not a whore. Stop throwing that fucking word around like an idiot.
If she's single, she's not cheating in her own right, but if he's married and she knows it, she's a willing participant in a conspiracy to do bad, and she can't logically attribute her complicity solely to his freedom of choice. If you feel otherwise, you have a lucrative career ahead of you working for the cigarette industry.
As for the question of whether an affair implies marriage, I agree with you and SaidED. Neither thefreedictionary.com or merriam-webster.com mention marriage in the sexual definition of "affair," except to qualify that the two people aren't married to each other. Usage stats, on the other hand, tell a different story. Google "have an affair"; you'll find very little such innocence. Anyway, this thread is getting way too serious for my tastes. Who the fuck cites sources
I do believe otherwise, and I have nothing to do with cigs. I don't quite get the connection, I have to admit. I'm actually a journalist. Anyway, even if she knows he is married, I don' thinks he should be faulted for the situation unless she's the one who pushed it. She's not the one cheating on anyone. Simple. His lack of morals is not her problem. Same goes if the sexes were reversed.
The cig analogy applies to any voluntary, harmful, shared-culpability relationship in which one party refuses to accept responsibility for resulting harm, blithely citing the other's free choice as the sole cause. Comparative fault, while a matter of degree (and I agree that the spouse is at greater fault), is still shared. Gender has nothing to do with it; the issue is that both parties can see potential harm, and either can prevent it.
my friends say this sort of thing about my dad all the time. he's single. and while it's gross to hear, it makes my dad feel better so.... who knows the context here, huh?
No one said anything heartless in that text. For one, the dad might not be married. Two, the girl could be joking. Three, even if the dad is married and the girl isn't joking, it's STILL not her fault. Unless she intentionally does some homewrecking (aka pushing herself on the dad repetitively), the blame lays ENTIRELY with the dad. Isn't it funny that the girl is always blamed? If the text was from a male about a mother, everyone would blame the mother!
Nice attempt at a comeback, idiot. You have no idea about my sex life and can't even make that judgment. Not that sex life makes someone a whore, anyway. I think you want the word 'slut'--whores don't just have sex for fun.
Guys trust me, banging a girl your daughters age is sweet revenge. Make the ex-wife feel really replaced. Better knock the young girl up and your teenage daughter has an infant aunt or uncle. Makes for good conversation.
