The DivaCup holds one ounce (30 ml). The entire average monthly flow is approximately 1 to 1.4 ounces (30-40 ml). By monitoring the fullness of the cup over a couple of periods, you will quickly learn how often to empty it according to your specific needs.
3:37, it sounds like you were using it wrong. And you don't need to throw it out after a year, especially if you were changing it out with another.
You didn't follow the instructions and apparently you're the prissy, squemish type. So it wasn't for you, that's fine, but you're whining about a lot of nothing.
Ha! You think we lack the dexterity to pour a capful of blood into a toilet? Why would I get the Diva Cup on my pants if pouring into the toilet? Get off TFLN and jerk it into a sock, why don't you.
We've had this Diva Cup conversation before. It's an alternative feminine hygiene product inserted into the vagina to collect blood and removed/cleaned twice a day. Unlike pads and tampons, it's free of chemicals and other dubious substances and is cost-effective, as it's reusable. Very sanitary and not messy if used properly.
And nobody would try to piss in it, because you pee out the other hole.
The DivaCup is emptied, washed and reinserted 2-3 times per 24 hour day. It can be worn up to 12 hours at a time, but it must be emptied, washed and reinserted at least 2 times a day (twice in a 24 hour period). It can be worn up to 12 hours overnight. Most women need only to empty it in the morning and again in the evening. (your telling me your not at your house once over a 12 hour time)
I don't know that'll I ever use a cup, mostly because I'm too lazy to track it down, but I found a lot of the responses funny. You touch the tampon applicator and string many times a day, you touch the used pad to roll it up and throw it away, and I don't see how that's any better (it's probably worse) than the cup. Just saying.
Yeah, Diva Cups are just the main brand, like you can say Kleenex but any tissue works the same.
And I never thought of it like that... menstruation isn't any worse than ejaculation, and we don't expect boys to swallow that...
3:43 worries me. Of what concern is it to you to preserve the hymen? I'm another girl who used tampons before having sex. It still hurt like a bitch and bled.
Well, no shit. You pee like 30x more than you'll ever bleed in an entire week, and you change your pad at least four times a day. It's not made for super-absorbancy.
Diva Cup is disgusting. How do you even change that cup in public?
It's a cup where you just insert up in your vagina and wait for it to be full then take it out, wash it and put it back in again.
HOW ANY MORE DISGUSTING CAN IT SOUND? And plus, the idea of shoving a cup up a vagina is scary enough, and then you gotta discard that full of blood cup in your sink? UGH? Can I say why civilization is denied now?
how often are you peeing in public? we have one stall restrooms at work, it's never been a problem for me. i usually change it out in the morning and when i get back from school/work, before i go out, actually. i second 3:31 - there's not alot of blood in the cup when you're done, that's why you can leave the cup in so long. i bet you're the idiot girls who flush their tampons because menstruation embarasses you. fucktards.
Someone tell me how you change your diva cup in public! WTF sure it sound like a good idea but no one would want to see my blood or anyones for that matter
In all honesty, why don't women wear diapers while they're on their period? Seems like it would quell a lot of the leakage concerns. Plus, it would allow you to pee as well.
PLEASE! Tampons suck, I can barely find any that are fragrance-free because I don't want anymore chemicals than are already in the bleached cotton. Pads make me feel unclean. Diva Cups rock.
Right, because thats a woman's pov. From a guy's pov, it's pretty disgusting and pathetic. Letting the whole world know that your blood is potentially pour all over your pants? No thanks.
343 my statement is not for all women obviously some womens hymens are in different places some women don't lose their virginity til they give birth but it's not a myth that it CAN break your hymen it's very possible, I'm a girl
I would think the diva cup is more discreet than a tampon, and certainly better than a pad. This way you don't have to carry a tampon to the bathroom, you have all the equipment with you already!
And 3:37, where are you getting your tampons/pads if you can get a years' supply for less than $50?
@Oct. 16, 4:06- Women don't loose their virginity when they give birth. They loose their virginity when they first have sex.
Get your facts straight, bitch.
3:35 (1) made me laugh so hard. Not the annoying woman on here trying to sell vagina kettles or whatever, but this one:
but what if your vagina is too big and it just spills all over?
HAHAH.
@9.34. No catholic girl is 'sweet'. Catholic priests sold indulgences to the public because they claimed they had a 'surplus of merit'. They used this money to built St Peter's = win. However, it also caused the split of christianity and the creation of protestantism, because of the extreme corruption of the catholic church = epic fail. Don't think it's any better now.
