The chinese folks in my area get the Mexicans to work in kitchen and do delivery; all the stuff they have no interest in doing. And I never stop getting a kick out of them saying "Hora" instead of "Hola". Hilarious!
wow, people really do that "first" thing still? so lame...
anyway that's not why i'm here. i used to live in a hispanic area near a college and the chinese restaurant employees ALL spoke spanish to their customers. so either you've been living under a rock or maybe, just because americans don't give a shit about learning other people's languages, doesn't mean that it's unusual for other cultures.
asians are usually hard workers and go out of their way to build clientel. I never had to learn Chinese, japanese, Tagalog, etc. just so they could get my order right. I lbve their work ethic [:
i'm finishing a double major in business and japanese because i'm not just dealing with americans with my work. maybe you won't care about foreign languages beyond "chalupa" when you spend the rest of your life working that drive-thru window, amigo.
一つの言語は決して十分ではない
9:36, there are many reasons why it's important to be knowledgeable about other cultures. Army translators? Study abroad programs? International relations? Thanks for proving just how selfish and ignorant Americans are.
Phaw, not rare at all. I frequent an Asian buffet in a heavily Hispanic neighborhood. They have a large bowl of wasabi with a sign taped above it that says ¡¡¡No es guacamole!!! I'd love to have seen the faces of the people who evidently made that mistake...
You're a retard. It's like saying you went to a burger joint and heard the white waitress say "adios"---who gives a shit? People from different countries ARE ALLOWED to know other languages,
9:24, we are in America, where we speak English. Why should I feel the desire or need to learn other peoples languages? They can take the time to learn the language of the country they are living in.
