Literally saw the blind leading the blind and then a man in a wheelchair going to help them while I was stuck in traffic near the soup kitchen on Ponce the other day........ But I've also grown up here and seen some WAY crazier shit..
from personal experience, people in wheelchairs are not always paralyzed, they could have a medical condition that takes away their balance ability, or the strength in their torso. Those that do have use of their legs, want to make sure they keep them exercised, therefore used to propel themselves around.
hahaha... probly the cat at ponce and memorial that i've seen do this.. theres also a dude in marietta on the marietta square that does this and just leaves his prosthetic in his lap instead of on his leg
The guy on north Ave yesterday only had one leg if that's who you're talking about. In which case he wheeled himself into traffic to collect money as the light turned green. At least his leg was there to help him back over the curb ...?
It's a popular misconception that seeing somebody in a wheelchairs means they have no use of their legs. Just because you can move your legs doesn't mean you can walk, and even some people who can walk for short periods of time need wheelchairs to make it through the day.
ATL might not be famous for all that much.
But by God, You see the weirdest shit.
Just like two days ago i saw a hippie playing a saw with a violin bow.
I was definitely walking down the street today in Atlanta and saw a guy using his legs to move forward and thought to myself "he's not really handicap".
