Why are there sofa cushions on the floor? And why isn't there a sofa in this room that doesn't have cushions?

More cushion for the pushin
Maybe they mean that the sofa that's in there still has cushions on it, so the cushions on the floor are puzzling. That's how I took it anyways.
Long story short, couches cannot be used as a flotation device.
