  • They shouldn't be dissolvable.  Follow up with your primary doctor in 4-5 days in order to have the laceration rechecked, and the sutures removed.  Follow up sooner if ANY signs/symptoms of infection develop.  With facial lacerations, you don't want to leave the stitches in too long, or you can have increased scarring...take them out too soon, and the laceration can dehisce which will also cause increased scarring.  Trust me...I'm a doctor.  ;-)
